Solacoat reflects 85% of the sun’s IR rays leaving 15% to be absorbed by the paint. With an emissivity of 88% most of that absorbed heat is then shed back into the atmosphere leaving less than 2% to be conducted through to the surface being protected.
In high ambient temperatures Solacoat reduces the internal temperature by up to 12 degrees Celsius without reducing the temperature in winter.
When applied to pavements or road surfaces Solacoat will reduce the Heat Island effect which can lower the ambient temperature in the surrounding area by several degrees.
